To move the world we must first move ourselves. — Socrates
After studying economics at Massey University I launched my career working with the New Zealand Trade, Industry and Electricity Department, with projects such as the assessment of the economics of electricity reticulation on Great Barrier Island. I later moved to an accounting career, studying accountancy at the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants. The completion of my C.A. accountancy qualification coincided with the birth of my first child, and since this time I have been working part time, for a more balanced life.
In the course of my career I have provided account and management support, including Information Technology and Financial Controller services, for a variety of small and medium sized businesses, and for the New Zealand’s largest privately owned environmental consultancy. I have also worked in the not for profit sector, as treasurer and board member at Variety the Children’s Charity, and I enjoy providing business mentoring support through Business Mentors New Zealand.
When I am not working with The Zone, I love spending time on Great Barrier Island fishing, swimming and tramping with family and our dog Minnie.
I have found my passion in my work with The Zone, supporting them to contribute to a more humane world of work. I love the work we do – helping organisations to ignite their purpose, and connect hearts and minds – and I treasure being part of this.
